The six storey building was built in 1931 by the City of Helsinki to accommodate the General and Girls’ Vocational School and the Printing School were completed in 1931.

The layout of the six storey building was based on a wide middle corridor with classrooms on both sides. The street front façade is made of Santamäki brick. The gilded round reliefs above the facade windows have been made by sculptor Gunnar Finne.

In the 1980´s the building was converted to temporary operate as an art museum while Ateneum was refurbished. The building was then converted into office for the city authorities and the basement floors were built in the inner yard.


KOO3 will be a vibrant innovation center, with a new concept for the office market. We primarily aim for innovative and contemporary companies.

The reception will be operated by Innovation Home. Additional services, event space and flex meeting rooms and workstations are possible to acquire trough Innovation Home.

The refurbishment of KOO3 started in October 2020 and will be ready by April 2022. After the refurbishment project, the premises will meet modern office standards both visually and technically. The project is being LEED certified with GOLD target.


KOO3 office building is about 7.000 sqm with six standard office floors, a new attic and two basements.

There will be a reception lounge at the entrance operated by Innovation Home. Here you can have a coffee or a glass of wine with a colleague.

The upper basement is right under the inner courtyard and has lots of skylights bringing light into the space. Innovation Home will operate the basement including meeting rooms and an event space.

There are 18 parking spaces in the lower basement and 5 parking spaces in the courtyard. Additional parking spaces can be acquired from EuroPark P-CityForum which has a pedestrian connection on Kansakoulukuja just 40 meters from the KOO3 main entrance.

There is bicycle parking in the courtyard as well as in the basement. Common social facilities with showers and sauna are also situated in the basement.
